Dr. Jessica Carey, PT, DPT, CSCS
Owner
Thank you for visiting Living Fit. My name is Jessica Carey, and I am a physical therapist, a strength coach, and an overall health enthusiast. In high school, I studied dance with a Boston based company and this sparked my interest and appreciation for human movement. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology in 2014 and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2017, both from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Along the way, I came to understand that the art of dance and the science of movement have a lot in common…there is no such thing as perfection, but progress is always possible.
I have spent most of my career working in the traditional healthcare system, which focuses on treating medical diagnoses and symptoms. As a physical therapist, I have worked in both the inpatient rehabilitative and the outpatient settings. As a strength coach, I have taught group fitness classes and done 1:1 training for over a decade. I am excited to be supplementing the traditional health care model to help you with your movement and fitness goals.
I have the fortune of being married to my high school sweetheart, Connor. We are building our very own Team Carey, featuring our playful pup and two kiddos. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, walking around Marblehead, exercising, dancing, and waterskiing. I hope to see you in a Strong Bones class or meet for a 1:1 session as soon as you are ready to be Living Fit!
